Instant Pot Chicken stew with today's leftovers Save money feeding your chickens
Today's instant pot chicken stew was rounded up and thrown in at about 2 o'clock.
We had left over chicken parmesan with gluten free shells sauce mozzarella cheese, A whole bag of pepperidge farms seasoned Turkey stuffing and I through in four eggs. For the seasonings I put in garlic powder as usual and some chili pepper flakes. At the end I realized I had a whole bunch of pizza bones so I threw them in there as well. I set the insta pot on menu 5 for 30 minutes of cooking and let it go to town.
Below you will see the pictures of all of my chickens having a heyday. They're flinging around the tomato sauce, they're fighting each other to get on top of the bowl! They absolutely love my chicken stew!
Just add all the ingredients you would normally give your girls into the insta por and cook it for a bit. I really feel it goes much further. Today it is 44° out, this was a lovely warm meal on top of their 20 % feed.
Instead of 2 to 3 Fifty pound bags of food per week, I barely use one!! It had made a huge difference in my feed costs! And look at them!! They are all fatty McFat fat!! It's an unbelievable accomplishment!!!
Now, if I have succulent greens, I give it to them directly of course. They also hinder Daddy in the Race Shop at night and he keeps a bag of treats to give them. He takes them all the way down the driveway and makes a pile. He says he is just getting them out of the shop so they dont pop everywhere. Yeah, whatever!! You hear him yelling "Girls, Girls!!" HE LOVES THEM TOO!! This week his treat is what grains. We usually keep scratch in the shop as a treat but they only like the corn. So I have Milo all over the driveway all the time. Hope you love my days and my chickens as much as I do!! They are the best!! They dont talk back and they are always happy to see me. But seriously, they are a wonderful distraction from all the stress and anxiety in my life. For them, I a greatful.
