Facebook Live Video: Thursday 9/24/2020 Barnyard Walk About to see our Goat Farm and Baby Goats Just a download of our quick FB live video of the barnyard. Check out all our goats and baby goats, chickens, guinnea, ducks, turkey and livestock guardian dogs! Once in a while I will go out to our 17 acre goat paddock, stay around the livestock barn and have a little walk about with the animals while sharing with our facebook friends. We have a goat farm here on our ranch out in teh country! Saanen, nigerian dwarf, pygmy, kiko and New Zealand Goats. We also have a chicken coop that is under some changes. We have 9 original chickens on our farm, grew out 4 that made it from the spring and have an additional 6 grow outs from the summer hatch. They love to get out of the chicken run area which is a risk for predators but thank goodness the are still with us! This fall I have decide to make in indoor run, (in the barn) to grow out some Fall Chicks, and keep them in the barn until they are big enough to survive in the big girl chicken coop at around 4 to 5 months. I have poor success keeping chicks alive in the spring and summer. Just when they are big enough for no more lights, and go outside, they die off every time it rains, even in a covered brooder, they get damp and chilled, or drown in a water dish. You would think they are big enough and smart enough. NOPE! so Im on a mission.
