Just another day the Homestead. Hold Dog Hostage. Bring in Elderberry. Build Chick Brooder. Cute Chicks

Today is a really candid look at what our day is like. I really feel like this was the day I felt relaxed on film.  The guys & BIL went to hang a new stand on the new property so I had to hold Bear hostage. While doing so, Jeremy banters Jason...GOOD times.  I then bring in the Elderberry Tree inside because its getting pretty cold at night. Next, the whole plan for today was to create a large chicken brooder to house all my FALL CHICKS.  There is 24 that hatched and OMG tons of fluffy butts up in here!! 

I take some old galvanized metal panels and add them to the inside of the goat pen I built in the barn last winter. The goats haven't used it in a long time so It has been a waste of space. SO, we used it to secure the bottom 2 feet of the pen so the chicks cannot get out. In the near future, I will fill the top part with net and the top with the plastic black netting.  The plan is to grow out as many chickens as I can in the next 5 months, INDOORS, to give them the ultimate survival chance. In March, I will release them into the BIG GIRL pen so they can get acquainted and start laying. I have 10 layers currently about 10 new chickens from the SPRING 2020 season. I cannot wait until I get more girls laying!!

After I am done modifying  the pen, we bring in the chicks. Its now the perfect diy chick brooder set up. OMG THEY ARE SO CUTE!!! YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO~ #ChickenBrooder #FallChicks #BuildBrooder
